New FDIC official signs and advertising requirements go into effect May 1, 2025. These requirements impact digital platforms, ATMs, branch lobbies, and signage for non-deposit products. It’s critical to understand how these new requirements impact an insured bank’s website, social media platforms, and mobile applications and to develop the relevant technology updates, policies, and procedures. While written policies and procedures are often seen as an industry best practice, the maintenance of written policies and procedures is now a specific regulatory requirement under the new rule.
 
In addition to covering the new requirements, this session will review existing FDIC official sign and ad requirements, which include proper placement within branches and on advertisements when inclusion is required. In addition, examples of misrepresentations of deposit insurance will be explained to ensure you know what triggers the FDIC official signage requirement.
